Tae Joo Park
Department of Materials Science & Chemical Engineering
Tae Joo Park received the B. Eng and Ph. D degree in Materials Science and Engineering from the Seoul National University, Seoul, Korea, in 2002 and 2008, respectively. His research at Seoul National University covered electrical and chemical characterizations of advanced gate stacks with metal gate/high-k/high mobility channel and non-volatile memory applications as well as thin film growth using atomic layer deposition. From 2008 to 2010, he was a research scientist of the Materials Science and Engineering department at the University of Texas at Dallas, where he was involved in advanced nano-electronic devices based on organic/inorganic thin films, graphene layer growth, and in-situ XPS analysis of thin films. Since 2011, he is currently a professor in the Hanyang University, Korea. He has published more than 130 papers in technical journals with more than 200 presentations in international conferences. His research interests include nano-electronic devices, atomic layer deposition processes and energy storage systems based on semiconductor process.

Rob Jeremiah G. Nuguid is a PhD student at Paul Scherrer Institut and École polytechnique fédérale de Lausanne (Switzerland) where he uses time-resolved spectroscopy to uncover the mechanism of catalytic reactions. He obtained his master’s degrees from Université Paris-Saclay (France), Universidad Complutense de Madrid (Spain), and Politechnika Wrocławska (Poland), and his bachelor’s degree from Pamantasan ng Lungsod ng Maynila (Philippines).

Davide Ferri received his PhD in chemistry at the ETH Zurich in 2002. After working at Bruker Optics GmbH as sales and support manage, he returned to ETH as assistant professor before taking a group leader position at Empa (Switzerland) in 2007. He is currently head of the group Applied Catalysis and Spectroscopy at the Paul Scherrer Institut (Switzerland). His interests span from environmental catalysts to liquid phase catalysed reactions and development of in situ/operando experiments. He uses vibrational spectroscopies in combination with X-ray based methods to study the structure of solid catalysts under reaction conditions.
